Identification: Diamond Pelt crust in Gifford Pinchot NF

    Looking for help with this crust fungus. Found growing near a creek in an older 2nd growth cedar/hemlock forest near Randle, WA.

    Lovely find @StephenJK
    This is a Pelt lichen, genus Peltigera. Based on the characters I can see (thank you for taking excellent diagnostic angles), this appears to be Peltigera membranacea, the Diamond Pelt. The orange bits are the apothecia, fruiting bodies.
