Hello, I am a beginner and got a new ficus bonsai plant about three days ago...and now the leaves of the tree are shredding and the leaves are turning black. Can you please help me with the solution for this problem....?? I have attached the pictures of leaves shredded, plant and the black spots (kind of burnt spots) with this. Please help....!!!!
Even if you didn't water it for three days, this wouldn't happen. So, you must have changed the light from very bright outdoors, maybe an open market, to dim indoors, and the presenter beforehand, too. To acclimate a plant from outdoors full sun to indoors houseplant you need to do it in two-week steps: sun, partial sun, dappled sun, bright shade, full shade, indoors to window. Please notice that this does not end in any situation without light. You can't put this on a TV in a corner of the room without a window close nearby just because that's where you always wanted a plant. There are very few plants that can stand that sort of situation. Consider that the leaves of any plant produce the lifeblood of the plant using sunlight, and must adjust their light receptors to whatever light level exists. If you come in from outside at noon and step into a closet and close the doors, it would take you several minutes of blindness to adjust your light receptors to the new level of light, but you wouldn't be able to read a book, or see much of anything. Plants take a much longer time to adjust to their light receptor mechanisms. Be kind to your plant, and conscious of their shortcomings and needs.
Put it outside in full sun if possible, or at least in a bright window. Outdoors, water every day it doesn't rain. Indoors, water it when the soil is dry to the touch, or every ~3 to ~6 days.
