Identification: On log at Iona Park beach

    While shooting snow geese on beach at Iona Park, found these on the same log. Are they all Dyer's
    polypore ? Thanks for your ID in advance.

    Hi David - They are likely all Gloeophyllum: If you have an underside shot that would prove identity :-).
    ....I know you would have included that shot if you weren't so distracted by the geese <grin>.

    On the other hand, I was sitting on that log, waiting for
    the incoming tide to usher the snow geese in from the
    sea to the shore. While waiting, I was distracted by the
    lichens and need to shoot with a wide angle 24-70mm
    lens, the 105mm macro lens was sitting in my home.
    I took the 105 along this morning, but was not able to
    relocate the log ! Thanks anyway for your speedy reply.
