Can someone identify what are these two plants. They grew in the compost bin so they may be from vegetables or they could possibly be invasive weeds:)!

The attached pic shows the underneath of the larger leaves. Plants grew in the Renfrew-Heights district of Vancouver.

Hmm, I don't recognize either. Does the first plant have square stems?

The first one looks almost like shiso—a Japanese vegetable. Have you had an Asian salad mix at some point?

Shiso was sown but it was red perilla.

Likely a mint family member, then, in which case almost certainly not a weed.

These will be easier to identify once there are flowers, if no one recognizes them by foliage.

Daniel, further to the above large-leaf plant that has now grown to 2', stem appears like those similar to celery.

    Correction, re stem
These stalks are quite square and the four corners sticking out are like cushioned.
Hopefully the picture of the stalks will assist in identifying this mysterious plant.

Hmm, those remind me of the stems of Verbena, but I didn't find anything with a similar leaf.

Keke mentioned shiso/ perilla? and stalks from pic look a lot like stalks of the mysterious plant. Thank you both for helping to identify these plants.
