I am re-doing a posting from yesterday, which I have deleted. Neighbours in my building ran into me in Stanley Park yesterday and took me to see a tree that had them curious. It looks like Thuja plicata, western red cedar, but they thought it looked so much darker than the T. plicata next to it, they wondered if it might be something different. Yep, both Western Redcedar Thuja plicata. The odd specimen is clearly a Thuja on foliage, and no other Thuja gets anything remotely near so large as a tree.
