    I saw San Diego mentioned alongside the linked images, and I just happened to have the Baja California Plant Field Guide in my office. It seems to me that it is Gambelia juncea.

    Thank you Daniel! Looks correct. So, it is planted, most likely, as the distribution map does not go into Califormia. A single point mapped to San Diego county on SEINET web site (SEINet - Arizona Chapter - Gambelia juncea) is probably in error, as the description for this point says "México, Baja California, La Mision, Lado sur de rio
    32.9 -116.87" - the coordinates are wrong.
