This Cunninghamia lanceolata was 18.6m tall in 1982, and was said at the time to have been among the largest in the city. It looked pretty similar to this in a 1982 photo (BC Society of Landscape Architects, unpublished book). These photos were taken yesterday at the east end of Angus Park in Vancouver. I've never seen the seed cones on others of these trees in the city.
Seattle has a couple over 84' (25m) tall (2005-6 measurements). I think the tallest one known in the area was near the north end of Vashon Island, if I remember correctly thought to be 99' (30m) before being cut down some years ago.
