Hello everyone! I am new to this. This is my first post. Based on some of your responses it seems you have experience with these trees. I just recently came from my first trip from Ireland, where I saw Monkey puzzle tree for the first time, and Would like to plant one in New York. My understanding is our winter could be less problem than the summer. I welcome any of your suggestions.

Sorry, too cold in winter in New York. And probably too hot in summer as well.

If you want a look-alike, Cunninghamia lanceolata would be worth a try - not the same in looks, but more similar than anything else hardy in NY.
