Two beautiful 'Shirofugen' cherries at Vidal Street north from Thrift Ave. I posted already one, but didn't notice another one. Between these 'Shirofugen' trees two 'Beni-Shidare' and one 'Kiku Shidare'

Nadia, have you looked at the tree we thought might be 'Imose'? The picture in Kuitert's book (page 272) shows a number of pedicels, each tipped with a pair of developing cherries. This is very distinctive. It also shows the characteristically lustrous, dark green leaves.

I note that this seems to be a very good year for flowering cherry fruiting.

 

I went twice to look at fruits, because I found a lot fruits at others. I didn't see any fruits at 'Imose' or what this cherry tree is. Lots of caterpillars on that tree, they eat leaves. I noticed one I thought berry, looked close it was a caterpillar. Could they damage future fruits fruits too?

 

I promise this is my last 2012 year post.
I cannot understand how I didn't see this beautiful 'Shirofugen' cherry in Centennial Park, it is still in bloom.(on map)


Another mature 'Shirofugen' cherry on Southmere Dr. not far from Martin Dr but close to the seashore, far from 10 young 'Shirofugen' cherries

I went today to look at this tree and found just a stump, this Autumnalis Rosea was cut down

We have in White Rock several Whitcomb in bloom too.
Martin and Victoria, 4 Whitcomb trees, I posted them last year and they are on the map already.

Backstreet west from Martin and South from Thrift Ave. (parking) is another Whitcomb cherry in bloom.

This is what happened to Whitcomb cherry at Martin and South from Thrift Ave. (parking)
During blooming it was so cruel pruned, behind this tree with flowers another badly pruned cherry. There is a lawn and plenty space for both of them.

I remember from last year in this small park near railroad, Beecher Str & Bayview Str beautiful Accolades, I lost pictures of them in bloom before I could post. This year one huge tree just started to bloom.

Pink perfection in White Rock / South Surrey

About 20 Pink perfection cherries on parking lot of shopping center 24 Ave near 152 Str

These look to me like young 'Kanzan', because of the bronze leaves. On the other hand, some of the flowers look like 2-story flowers, so that would be 'Pink Perfection'. Can you get back there and get better blossom photos?

It's hard now with small 'Kanzan' that have been open for a while, because the flowers are fading closer to 'Pink Perfection' colour and the leaves are turning green.
