    Re: Pinus koraiensis 'Jack Korbit'

Upon more conversation among experts, we have
    concluded the following:
Pinus koraiensis (x) 'Dragon Eye' is the correct name; (x refers to wallichiana)
The following two culitvars are synonyms of, (x) 'Dragon Eye' :

Pinus koraiensis 'Oculus-draconis' & 'Jack Korbit'

    With Best Regards,

    Dax

No hybrid Pinus koraiensis × P. wallichiana has ever been verified; I'd be very dubious about that parentage.

It only seems correct at the time, now. Should a cone prove otherwise, then it will again be classified
as Pinus koraiensis 'Dragon Eye'. The needles of all (3) above-mentioned-names, have the same, typical, needle-kink that wallichiana has. Could be a genetic-abnormality, but most-likely, not the case. Thanks for the information, Michael.

The specimen-examples of 'Jack Korbit' or 'Oculus-draconis' are still going to be classified as synonyms & lumped under the name
'Dragon Eye'. Unfortunately, multiple-naming and distribution of both, scionwood and plants... is an ongoing-nuisance, and a form of
    negligence.

Does anyone know who Jack Korbit/Corbit/Corbett/Korbett is/was? Dax, you seem to know something about him, or enough to want the spelling changed. Was he a plantsman somewhere?
