Hello to all community members. I recently joined this forum and quick wanted to introduce myself. My name is Emma and I am from France. A nature lover an environmental buff, I love to learn about plants, flowers.

For my studies I will be in Vancouver all this summer and I would like to know the best places in the region to admire flowers, the most beautifull gardens.

Looking forward to being an active participant in this forum.

    Cheers

Thanks for the sites, Chimera. Good for us out-of-towners who only get to make lightning visits to Vancouver.

Yes, easy to visit 3-4 gardens in a day, as some are within 10-20 minutes drive of each other.

Welcome to beautiful BC!!!! A trip to Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island will be well worth the effort. 50 acres of gorgeous colour and the sunken garden, built in an old quarry over a hundred years ago, is spectacular. There is also a Japanese Garden, and various other theme plantings.Easy day trip on the ferry from Tsawwassen or Horseshoe Bay.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I have been to Butchart Gdns, spectacular, and Van Dusen, again, wonderful, usually in fall, winter and spring. I must try to get down during the summer. The other ones sound very intriguing too. So much to see, so little time. Am keeping a list.
