Found it, not on 10th, so corrected to 12th.

There's a Pendula of some sort on 12th Ave near Ash. It's not quite worth a visit yet, but there are some blossoms open already. Here's a pre-season report from the semi-tropical west end. Autumnalis Rosea trees have been quite properly covered with their very subtle blossoms since November. Prime locations are 1000 block Pacific, Thurlow lane between Burnaby and Harwood, and Nicola mini-park north of Davie.

I rode my electric bike around today to look at Cherries downtown. The buds are getting fat but no blossoms as yet. The Whitcomb cherry at the North foot of Denman street (by Bliss Bistro) is 50% in bloom. Akebonos in Melbourne Park on Vanness, not far from the Joyce Skytrain Station, should normally bloom at the end of March.

I'm not a cherry scout of this area, but on Saturday I made a wrong turn on my way and found a small park at the south-west corner of Sophia and 15th. There were 5 Whitcomb trees and it was a lovely sight. I parked my car and took photos.

Autumnalis Rosea at west side of Kerrisdale community Center
There are 8 Autumnalis Rosea trees on eastside of Yew Street between 42nd and 43rd. They have already started Blooming a little. Autumnailes is said to bloom in November.But I noticed their first flowers on February 11th. Almost 3 weeks has passed, but less than 10 % of buds opened on March 1st. But still you can feel cherry season is coming.
