      <content:encoded><![CDATA[OK SO I have been unfortunate enough to let this black locust tree grow wild in my backyard, thinking some shade would be nice.   Two of them, actually, on the fence property line.   How was I to anticipate what a mistake that was.<br />

First, they shot up incredibly tall.   And their canopies are so large, that they are now leaning in opposite directions away from each other, because they really should have started out farther apart.<br />
What this has resulted in is one of the locust trees leaning...<br />

Last year, it did not thrive, even after we placed an ant trap among the stems, thinking that the tiny invaders we noticed were causing the problem.       <content:encoded><![CDATA[I have been having some mysterious pest damage. There were chewing on the top of the stems (not at ground level) and killing the young shoots. It affects my astilbe but also the near by wisteria (at fence height). <br />
When I do evening check on cut worm population with a flash light, I can&#039;t seem to find much at all. <br />
Yesterday I found same type of damage on my spirea in pot.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I have a lot of Hibiscus that I planted over a year ago.  They bloomed and were beautiful in March I cut them back so they wouldn&#039;t get leggy.  They were blooming and growing so tall that I had to cut back again and they are still growing a lot and are loaded with buds but they don&#039;t open.  Now they are growing so much and now top leaves are pointing up but they need to be cut back again.   My husband wants to pull all of them out and plant something else.  I don&#039;t know what else to plant....<br />

Hoping to get some thoughts about a growing problem on the back patio. 12 years ago I built a 10&#039;x10&#039; wooden pergola, sitting atop the patio (not bolted in). We planted a tiny honeysuckle plant just off the patio and over a decade later the vine has flourished better than we had hoped but the pergola has since rotted and deteriorated, carpenter ants/bees/insects have nearly hallowed it out. We&#039;ve enjoyed it so much over the years but it has to go before it collapses and hurts...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I believe that one of my raised garden bed plot has been infested with the dreaded clubroot spores. This is the plot that I used this year for my broccoli and cauliflower. <br />
All the plants basically wilted up and died and when I pulled the plants up, the roots were swollen and looked like brains. <br />
I am not sure how this one plot became infected as I planted nursery bought plants and used sea soil compost to mix in the soil.<br />

I seem to remember this forum telling me to just leave the plant in its pot &#039;cause it would grow another, smaller pineapple.  Well look at this:  the plant on the left is the original, and sure &#039;nuf it grew another one.  Not only that, it grew an offshoot which I duly cut off and planted.
