Hi. Our ponytail palm grew too tall, so we cut it off and hoped it would re-grow. It did, thankfully, and it looks like this 3 months after the chop. I'm wondering if I can remove any of these shoots to propagate new plants? Or are they just bunches of leaves and not 'pups'? (I'd like a few more to put around in the garden)
Unfortunately I think we chopped it off too high and we'll probably have to chop it again to be much shorter in a few years. Do you think we could do this successfully?...

I have a ponytail palm that’s at least 25 years old. I got an infestation of about every bug possible. Likely from a plant I brought home from Lowe’s. I’ve never had bugs in any of my plants until recently. I ended up losing every plant except this one. Trust me. I tried everything; organic, nonorganic, new pots, new soil, heating the soil, on and on. They just won’t leave! I got so frustrated the other night and decided the leaves had to come off. I’m kind of glad bc I was shocked at how...

About a year ago my ponytail palm was covered in mealy bugs. Although I tried everything suggested, the mealy bugs won out. Eventually the plant (12ft tall) looked sad and pathetic so I decided to toss it. At the last moment I changed my mind and cut the stalk instead. Here are the results. The one sprout that is most interesting is the one coming directly out of the bowl at the bottom of the trunk. Incredible and so far no signs of mealy bugs! Should I do anything about the sprout on...
