Identification: Year of the green mushroom

    Yet another green mushroom has come my way. This one may be some kind of cort, at least it has a stringy kind of veil that eventually shreds away to nothing. And the mushroom eventually loses its greenness and becomes brownish. What say?

    These are almost certainly a species of Cortinarius, but someone expert in identifying members of this genus will be needed if you want the exact ID.

    Great! To confirm as a cort is a good start. We await developments.
