In The Garden: Would love to know what to call this flowering shrub/bush

    Hi All,

    Have have searched the internet looking for this flowering 10 foot shrub. I have attached two picture as it is now beginning to bloom. My soil is highly acidic ; I am thinking some kind of Azalea but this is a very large shrub.

    Any ideas would be greatly welcomed.

    I think it's a double Hibiscus syriacus.

    Azaleas do not produce lobed leaves.

    The flower bud is definitely one of a hibiscus.
