    Hi;
    Should I cut back all the yellowing foliage on my various perennials now or in the spring? What about the fall mums? Do I need to add new mulch before the winter sets in?
    Thank you

    your mums should be hardy enough... and depending on the perennials, grasses you can cut down and herbaceous perennials you can cut down w/ alittle bit of mulch. Shrubs (butterflybush..ect) trim down to a lower frame with mulch of course (in your area)

    I think mulch is a good idea for most all perennials in the fall. I don't remove the leaves unless they have died back, I want to make sure all the nutrients they have produced get stored.
