Willow Tree Bark Splitting

    We have a 3 year old weeping willow tree and the bark is splitting. Should we be concerned? Thank you.

    Could be a canker caused by a fungus....if it is, yes I would be concerned.

    It's hard to treat a canker in the bark once it gets a hold. Here in Ontario, the government has banned most of the effective fungicides. I would research the fungicides that might be effective or contact your garden center or extension service.
