Good day! I am hoping someone knows an area where white pines are still growing? I require a quarter cup of needles for a syrup for my sick friend.
Does it specify which kind of white pine? Assuming western white pine, it is common enough at higher elevations of the North Shore mountains. The trick is to find it in a place where it is harvestable (i.e., not a provincial park), as I see it in plant lists for Mt. Seymour PP and Cypress PP. At the Mt. Seymour ski area parking lot, I note that some areas west of the parking lot / road are not within the park--that is a possible location. Google Maps
