Our FUCHSIA has been a healthy and beautiful plant until the last week or ten days, and now leaves are turning yellow and dropping. Close inspection shows a few leaves and stems have a dusting of white spots. Doesn't look like spider mites but there are some singular strings of web visible on a few leaves.

How is your fuchsia now? It looks to me like it has/had residue left by aphids. I guess everyone has been too busy in the garden to do much reading here lately.

I'm a little north of you and have had some aphids on the odd plant. Usually those on my fuchsias and roses are temporary and go away on their own. Recently, I washed off a cuphea with dilute dish water plus some diatomaceous earth. It had black aphids for the 2nd time. The first time I just hosed them off but that was not enough.
