My folks found this growing at their winter home. It kind of looks like some sort of pine tree but I have no idea what it is, can anyone identify it?

Thanks for quick reply. Now I know why I love this site! I thought that but the leaves are fuzzier in the Callistemon, aren't they and isn't the plant no more than 3m tall? This "shrub" is 6-7m tall or more. I've only seen one or two varieties of Callistemon, though.

Well, have a look around the internet, now that you have an idea where to start. For instance, Wikipedia says there are 34 species of Callistemon, some of which can grow to 15 m (49 ft).

Arizona. I was hoping to see if it could be brought up as a cutting to our home and native land. Thought that a small one could fit in with my frangipanis.

Certainly not. It is too cold for it in Montreal.

I was planning on growing it as a house plant. The only thing that we grow here are maple trees, did you know that we are the only place on earth that you can get real sirop d'erable!:)
