After having our soil tested it has been found to be too acidic for what most vegetables would be happy growing in.
I have added manures (well composted) every year in the past and added straw last fall.
I believe that the manures and such will just make our soil more acidic?
If we are to add lime to try and raise the PH level which would be the best type and should it be added this fall or in the spring. I believe that different forms of lime are
    quicker to change PH.
    I would appreciate any input.

I'm having a similar problem in that I think I compost too much of my coffee grinds (I'll have to start garborating some), and my soil is a little more acidic than it used to be. I haven't been able to grow lettuce for the past two years. (I need to drink less coffee and eat more eggs, lol ;)
