We have a small pond in a big plastic pot from Garden Works . It was VERY pretty last year. I have collected the seeds from a water plant that makes lovely snow white star like flowers at the end of grass like structure. .And we had a very tall grass like plant like square sticks 3-4mm wide up to 2-3 feet tall.
Question will it grow again or does it only once. All the stems seem dead only one is still green and I don't know the name I think it is an Australian plant if I recall correctly.
Than we had a beautiful read leaf Cannas like but I it does not seem to be growing again also. Do these plants only grow once? Several of the other plants are REgrowing like the one with this curly leaves.
There was also one like a satelite with lovely flowers.
HOW does one go about to grow from the seeds collected . Do I put a pot with earth and gravel in a water pot or do I grow them in a normal seedling pot with soil and than put them into water ? At 29$ to 49$ for one small plant in shops I am eager to be able to grow them again myself if the winter killed them off OR/AN maybe make another small still pond in our garden. THANK YOU for any advise.. My fault I not kept the name of all these plants...

Regarding the Canna lilies, after the first hard frost of the year in October, you need to cut off the deat stems and lift the rhizomes. You can then clean them and store them in a garage in some peat moss for the winter.
