Unusual flowers in UBC garden

    Acanthocalycium spiniflorum f. violacium, I am not sure if this is after bloom or prepare to bloom.

    Two different Berkheyas in Alpine garden(S. Africa section)- Berkheya cirsiifolia and Berkheya purpurea

    Last interesting thing is this Poppy, I wish I know what cultivar it is

    Looks to be Papaver somniferum--the one that is referred to as Danish flag.

    So this is not cultivar?

    I don't think it has been written up as a cultivar. It comes true from seed though. It's been around for quite a while. These are annuals, not sure if it was planted intentionally in the Garden or not.
