    Hello all

This plant was growing in the Newcastle Botanic Gardens in Australia, in the arid section.

My first thoughts were an Allamanda of some sort, however it is not climbing, the seed pods where smooth, round and somewhat flattened, splitting in two when ripe. The flowers are approx. 80mm across, sap is clear, and the seeds look typical of Bignoniaceae rather than the hairy type that I am used to in Apocynaceae.
The stems are somewhat succulent and seedlings form a succulent stem with a swollen base.

    Any thoughts?

    Regards Andrew
