I have found the wildflowers pictured below growing in fields in Indiana. They seem to be very numerous in some places right now and began appearing (I believe) around the middle to end of May. The leaves have a fern-like appearance and the plants develop small, flat, oblong seed pods measuring perhaps an inch or so long that contain perhaps three or four seeds. Any help in identifying this plant would be appreciated!

I would say it is Astragalus of some sort. Common name is Vetch... Hope this helps a bit...
