Unfurling stem of flowers

    Hello, looking for ID help! Photographed this plant in the Conservatory of Flowers, Golden Gate Park. Sadly didn't get any identification marker or take photos of anything other than the flowers! I know, amateur.

    I've scoured the Conservatory of Flowers site and have come up with nothing.

    Scorpioid cymes are most often associated with Boraginaceae, but this doesn't have the general overall abrasive look of members of that family I am familiar with. Maybe @Douglas Justice knows this one.
