Identification: Tall red mushroom or other fungus..can anyone identify?

    I live in Maryland and after a lot of rain and a few abnormally chilly days these red mushrooms showed up and I'm very curious about what kind they are and if they are at all dangerous. If anyone has any ideas please let me know! thank you!

    This appears to be a stinkhorn in the genus Mutinus. Refer to the earlier thread: "Identification: tubular, orange fungii, with smelly brown slime" from September 19.
