Sorry - that's what I meant - it was obvious that you couldn't reach them to find out if they were sticky.
I think, with those round overlapping petals, that they look more like Sargent hybrid.

My friend led a tour of rain gardens in North Delta today, and a couple of us hijacked the walk for a bit to get a closer look at these 'Whitcomb' trees on 112 Street and 84 Ave - four on 84th and two around the corner.
    Whitcomb_112St84Ave_Cutler_20180318_123820.jpg Whitcomb_112St84Ave_Cutler_20180318_123950.jpg Whitcomb_112St84Ave_Cutler_20180318_124020.jpg

I had a little trouble remembering the location of this 'Whitcomb' we later drove by, but from the shopping centre name across the street, I was able to finally figure out which side of the centre it was - the Nicholson Road side of Scottsdale Centre, and I found the camper on Google street view. This is a very good-looking tree for this cultivar, low-grafted so it looks like a real tree, nicely-shaped canopy.

I've been watching this 'Accolade' grow up for several years. I wasn't so optimistic about it at the beginning, but it's looking quite nice now. On the NW corner of Fairlight Crescent and Clark Drive in North Delta. My photos from my last visit in the rain were not useful; these are from Ib Nielsen.

Here is a 'Beni-shidare' I saw on the walk on March 17, not in bloom at the time but it should be in peak bloom right now. At 84 Ave and Brooke Road in North Delta.

Jake has put a marker on the festival map for these three 'Akebono' at 11855-191a Street in Pitt Meadows. Google brings up the same location for that address if it's called Surrey or Pitt Meadows, so I'm assuming this thread is ok.
He says that the whole street was lined with these trees, but some home owners have cut these trees down due to roots. There are three trees at his end of the block, and several more on the cross street 118b, though I am not sure what the last tree at the east end of that street is.

Thanks, Ellen, and welcome to the forums!
These trees have such an unusual shape for 'Akebono', but the flowers look right. I guess they have been pruned, and that has changed the shape (well, obviously, that's what a lot of pruning is, but in this case, it has done away with the lovely outstretched limbs that one would expect to see).

"This 'Accolade' " is actually three trees, and they were looking very nice this evening. There is a fourth tree in this small area that is just in bud. I'm expecting it to be an 'Akebono'.

My friend Deborah Jones is responsible for creating several rain gardens in North Delta. These 'Akebono' cherries are at the one at Jarvis Elementary School.

Beautiful rows of Akebono trees on a long stretch of Spenser Dr(151a St) from 148 St to 86 Ave. You can park almost anywhere, but I recommend parking at Maple Park next to Maple Green Elementary. These photos were taken on March 31, 2022.

A friend lives in Surrey and visited Fleetwood Park display gardens (80th & 160th) where is a cherry walk that should be quite nice to view the Rancho and Akebono when the new skytrain station is completed nearby.

Not sure if these are also Rancho. The flowers look like Rancho, but the shape of the trees don't.
{UPDATE} Thanks Wendy to let me know that these are plums. Now I see that there is no split at the end of the petals. I'm leaving these photos so that other novice people can compare the very similar cherry and plum flowers. And they are beautiful anyway...
