I came across this plant yesterday in southern Indiana in a heavily wooded area with lots of undergrowth. I am baffled as to what it is or if it's dangerous. Any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated. It was about one meter tall.

Based on the foliage and the height, it might be instead Arisaema dracontium, the Green dragon.

Indeed. I had no idea there was another American Arisaema species. Now I do. Thank you.
