    Hi There!

I had a nice little plum tree on the property. Don't know what kind but the plums were store-bought size, dark purple. Bark on tree is dark purplish brown. Something got after it last year and all the leaves died. This year there were leaves on one branch but many of those died as well, now there are only a few alive at the end of one branch. Is there any hope for it, or should I cut it down? If there is hope, what beastie do you think is doing it and how can I combat it?

    Thanks much!

If there is no mechanical damage such as stripped bark, the getting after it consisting primarily of the dying off described here then it is probably a disease problem, maybe something like bacterial canker.
