I recently moved here from Quebec, bringing 120 hostas (another 120 to follow!). I have them temporarily planted until I make more beds for them. The area where I want to plant them is deep, deep sand. Will topping the sand with 18 inches of good soil/compost work??? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
