Wildflowers: Side Of Road, Colombia

    Can anyone identify this for me? Because of it's roadside location I wonder if it is an alien.

    Gesneriaceae for sure. Maybe Kohleria eriantha. Kohleria eriantha
    It's one of yours, not alien to Colombia.

    Thank you I was thinking Kohleria and I know they are native here. It certainly looks like that species.

    You already know more about them than I do then. It looked like a flower I remember photographing at the conservatory at the Calgary Zoo that did not have a label and that I'm pretty sure I had the wrong name for. Maybe someone there suggested what I had called it, a flower more variegated than yours but with the same markings. When I looked up the name I had, I was pretty sure it was wrong, as those (Episcia) all seem to have yellow throats, so I looked up some other possibilities. Maybe you want confirmation from someone who knows more about these.
