Wildflowers: Reddish-orange wildflower

    I don't think these are Tropeaeolum but they were nearby Tropeaeolum. These photos were taken in May in Madeira along a levada.

    Please help me identify them.

    Nope, same plant. It's an interesting annual that can self seed. I see the capsule in your last pic. I'll not get into the companion planting and utility issues, but that's nasturtium as your Michigan neighbors would know it, or Tropaeolum sp.

    Hi,

    just a note..... Tropaeolum majus, whilst not listed in the legislation, is considered an invasive species in Portugal (including Madeira).
