Hello all, I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on what to plant between pavers on a patio. I am in Portland, OR, and so we have lots of rain most of the year, but we can get some blazing hot, dry weeks in the summer. The ideal cover would be somewhat hardy during the heat and also repress weeds. This would be in partial sun areas. The attached picture is not my yard, just an example of the paver style and spacing.
I love moss and creeping thyme, thank you! Some time ago I was obsessing over moss, and read you need to change the acidity of the soil etc., and that it can be high maintenance, is this true, in your experience?
i don't have a lot of shady areas and don't purposely have any mosses growing (there is some in some parts of the bed that faces north) so i can't comment on acidity levels being an issue. to avoid have to make major amendments you might want to look into something that is native to your area.
I like creeping thyme for this purpose. Its lovely scent will waft up to you as you walk by, stirring the leaves.
