Pterodiscus is a member of the Pedaliaceae family. A very easy to grow caudex forming plant. It is tolerant of a variety of growing condition, from hot and dry to moist and partly shaded. Just depends on how you want your plant to look and flower.

Attached are two my plants. I keep them under potted in full sun and with limited moisture so growth stays compact, branches short and foliage tight. Even under these conditions flowers are large, 2-3cm diameter. I also prune the roots every other year when I repot, again to keep things compact as they would be in habitat.
