The following was received via email:

When and how to prune? It is about six feet tall sort of espaliered on a trellis. I don't want to prune out all the flowering wood as it is so nice to see the lovely blossoms in the rain in Bella Coola.

    Thank you

    Hello,

Jasminium nudiflorum looks best when tied close to a wall or sprawling over an embankment. It should be pruned in the spring, immediately after it finishes flowering. Shoots should be spaced and tied in to the support to cover it evenly and fill it in, after which all other flowered shoots should be cut back to 2 to 3 pairs of buds of those main "framework" branches. It tolerates hard pruning, but old plants may be better replaced.

    That's all from:

Brickell, Christopher, and David Joyce. "Cavendish Encyclopedia of Pruning and Training" 1999. London. p. 274.
