Hi there: I am located in zone 5b Campbellford, Ontario and dug this shrub out on one of my nature walks. It has very tiny leaves almost oval shaped it blooms small yellow pea type flower and when finished it produces a pod. Bark has slight greenish tinge. I think it is native shrub and some type of lotus. I see lots of them in conservations areas or growing in poor soil.
Thanks in advance for the wealth of knowledge sorry if the image is a little blurry

Hi Salt Cedar: Not sure if this is it or not. It gave me an idea however just googling your latin proper name. Which gave me a picture of the blossom and led me to further describe the flower on the shrub I am looking to ident. It has more a snap dragon flower if this helps. I appreciate your help.

Can you post an image of the flower or pod?
We can't go much farther without that I'm afraid.
