Plant ID needed

    Can anyone help me ID this plant. It was seeded in my friend's garden on Whidbey Island. Here are two photos.

    It looks like a wild plum (Prunus) but I would expect a single stalk. Are the stalks shown in your photo separate or joined at the bottom?

    Not sure because I'm not at his house anymore. What would be the other options depending if it is joined or separate?

    I think it's because it looks like suckering regrowth after a tree had been cut down.
