Decent-size guys, growing on old logs in a dank place, sorry i didn't notice what kind of logs. Top and bottom pics, this specimen was about 10 cm across. Any IDeas?

    Cheers, Mike

Hmmmm ... the pink hue suggests Fomitopsis cajanderi.
The growth pattern is interesting: Do the growths on top appear to be part of the same mushroom or do they look like a different fungus?

Yeah, this Fomitopsis looks good, thanks! About the growths on the top, I can't remember clearly enough to really nail it. They do look a bit foreign in the pic but still have a bit of a pink tinge ... I haven't been back to that place yet but found another specimen elsewhere, so a couple more pics. This one also has growths on top but not as obvious or foreign-looking, and clearly a pale pink. At least I verified it's on a douglas-fir log, said to be this Fomitopsis' preferred host.
