I have a phaelanopsis that dropped its blooms over a month ago. The leaves look very healthy and it just started to send out what looks like a new root/runner. I'm wondering if it's something that would take root if I put this into another pot of bark mix. If not, what is it? Does it mean the pot is too small?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

It's a root. Normal for phals and other epiphytic orchids. Just leave it be. Other plants keep their roots inside the pot: orchids have no such reticence.
Post a photo if you can. How long have you had your plant? Tell us about it!
