My Penstemon 'Cherry Red Glow' grew to about 3' High last summer, and has not died back over the winter, though it is floppy now, leaning all over the place. Should I prune it back?
I live in Kitsilano and bought the plant from the Shop in the Garden at UBC.

Yes, you can cut it back (springtime better than the autumn for this). Up to you how far back, some sources suggest leaving as little as 10-15cm aboveground growth while others suggest cutting back only half of it.

Thank you Daniel, I have cut it back to about 15cm and made note for next year.
