I have some very BIG Pampas grass clumps. I just cut them back and it's October, Will that hurt them? They are all dead in the middle and I pulled out a lot of that. Some of the roots started to show. These are beautiful and line my driveway and I hate to lose them. can you help me?

No problem. Cutting back every few years to clear out the old debris is good for them. Nature does it with wildfires, and some people even set fire to theirs to do this. That method is only recommended if it is well away from buildings and other plants!

It will regrow vigorously in the spring.

Michael is right regarding it's renewed vigor next year.

"I just cut them back and it's October, Will that hurt them?" ... always ask the question first and act later. This time you got lucky.
