    Hi,
I planted a pampas grass about a year ago. Now it's about 6 ft tall and blooming for the first time. I think it's a male plant because it only has one stalk of rather scanty plume. I heard the female plant is more showy. I was hoping the plant I bought was a female one.

    Questions:

    1. Will this plant produce only male plants when it seeds, or is there any possibility of it producing gender of both kinds?

    2. Right now the plant consists only of one small clump of 1 ft diameter. Ideally, I would like it to spread to a 6 ft wide clump. So, would collecting the seeds from the plume be the easiest way to do that? If so, when is the best time to harvest the seeds?

    3. I also heard the plant is an invasive plant. Will it invade my garden and neighboring yards also?

Sorry for so many questions. Any info you could offer would certainly be much appreciated.
