Pale Yellow (almost white) flower

    Yet another one (at least it is not like an arnica....) The leaves are deeply veined and quite thick...

    Almost certainly a Phacelia, but I don't have the references at hand to suggest a species or eliminate all of its relatives as a possibility.

    I'm leaning toward Phacelia hastata, but I need to check some written references first.

    I think you are right -- but when I was looking at pictures I found another possibility -- the varileaf phacelia, Phacelia heterophylla which apparently is similar to the Phacelia hastata var alpina.
