This photo was taken mid-winter in San Antonio, Texas. Someone suggested it might be a native poinsettia (Euphorbia heterophylla) The plant was approximately 4 feet tall.

That one produces less conspicuous floral bracts. I think this is a Christmas poinsettia.

It looks very much like a Christmas poinsettia. I've seen thriving ones in Jacksonville, Florida, where it was always worth seeing whether they would freeze before Christmas.

That's a magnificent specimen in a flattering setting. It should inspire others to use poinsettias as landscape plants.

Thanks! When I took the photo I was fairly certain it was a Christmas poinsettia Euphorbia pulcherrima Then a friend questioned it, and so I just had to have some confirmation.

It is in a lovely setting. If I was not an hour north of San Antonio and in a different growing zone, I would want to try one!

Darn! The link to see the photo doesn't work. Would you try again?

Here's the photo. Sorry for the delay. As you can see, a little Christmas plant can make a low-maintenance showpiece.
