I live in NorthWest Florida, and have a property that came with a large variety of fruit trees and flowering bushes, plants, and Trees. My problem is that I have noticed baby plums on the tree since mid April, and now many of the babies are on the ground. What would cause this? I water them twice a day for most of the week. I have noticed that all of the plum trees have some kind of fungus, or whatever, growing on the trunks. I have noticed that one of the trees is begining to wither.

Could be ones that weren't pollinated, others persisting on the tree and going on to size up and mature.
