Magnolia

    I have a 3 year old Elizabeth Magnolia tree, that this year in April only partially bloomed on one side. There are two main branches and the one side seems to be split all the way up and looks to be dead. Should I cut the one side off? When would be the best time to do this if it is indeed the proper action to take.
