Wildflowers: Madeira flowering bush id

    This flowering bush was along the shore at Porto Moniz, Madeira (on the north side of the island). The photograph was shot in late May 2017.

    Please help me identify it.

    Tamarix ramosissima, I believe. Never saw it in person.

    Yes, lovely. Especially at seaside with the blue ocean background and the breezes wafting the racemes in a cloud of pink. Nice pics.

    But also very invasive outside of its native range! Not a good one to plant.
