    Hi.
    I hope some of you folks can help me out in a big way. I am cataloging an image collection - nearly 20,000 pictures :( - and some of the plants have me stumped despite

    googling till my eyes want to fall out! Common names or latin.

    These photos are all taken in the Langley area (except the last) in gardens although the odd one is a wild flower. There are 53 pics (sorry) and I want to stress that I've
    already identified close to 200 plants on my own. The names of the plants are based on the date (time of year) they were taken.
    Many thanks to anyone who can contribute some answers. :)

    EDIT: This has proved to be a learning lesson for me -requesting assistance via a forum. :)
    or those of you who are wondering about Lila's list- it is based on the ORIGINAL numbering of my list which is now shifted by 2. I am NEW to this forum and did not realize the implications of doing this so please do not dwell on it.

    My reaction to this, at the moment is that there are too many pictures all at once - and at links instead of here with the post. Maybe try posting smaller increments, here on this site. 5 or 10 pictures, visible when the post is clicked on is much more manageable. Maybe try that later if you don't get alot of answers to this one.

    Ron B: thank you for replying.

    I didn't realize the links would not show in their entirety when I posted which is too bad because the photo names are clues...year_month_day_colour (of plant) which was supposed to make it easier.
    Most of the forums I belong to discourage multiple image posting if an alternative like Photobucket is available (which is why there is a link to the full gallery pages over every 20 photos) so I didn't want to post even 10 photos let alone 53...

    But the links can be opened in a new 'tab' which is really convenient I thought instead of attaching 10 or 20 pics. (Maybe older Internet Explorer doesn't do this but the new one does and Mozilla and Firefox both do as well)

    Well, I will be happy with whatever anwers I get- at least I can try new directions from the ones I've been taking! lol

    Don't think the flowers look right for Sempervivum. On 2nd look, guess the flowers actually aren't from the bottom plant. Maybe.

    Sorry, I just looked quick the photos, without reading... :( I thought, you need ID to the other plant on your photo!
    Of course it is a Sempervivum... :)

    I missed that, thank you. Seems pics are often later deleted from Photobucket , so reference is gone , and thread becomes obsolete.

    Wow, I'm not full mad! Huh... :)))

    YESTERDAY your 48. photo was really a Corepsis sp. ... wich is TODAY your 49. photo... (So probably tomorrow will be Coreopsis the 50. ... ? :))) (But what comes next week? After 53? :)))

    And the other photo, with the Sempervivum AND with the Lobularia, was YESTERDAY your 47. photo, thats why may tip was YESTERDAY Lobularia sp. ... but TODAY is your "47" is a 48. ... and you want to ID the Sempervivum on your photo, not the Lobularia as I tought... :)))

    Hmmm... I think this thread will be a great english language lesson to me... :))) (More than a botanical lesson!!!)

    35 = Ox-Eye Daisy I am thinking of the one that grows wild and is a bit of a weed.
    [Chrysanthemum leucanthemum.]

    37 = Camelia [sasanqua???]

    39 = Aluminium plant yellow flowers not Pilea. There is another one not so rampant but has purple flowers

    40 = Japonica

    42 not same as 32

    43 lilly of the valley tree [Pieris]

    My guesses for the project.

    chimera: see the edit in the original post- Lila's i.d.s are correct from the original post- the order is changed to reflect the list properly. This was not the smartest move on my part. :(

    Lila Pereszke: No worries about Alnus- you provided the direction to go which counts for a lot- I did not expect much response from the first 3 posts but I believe your generous perusal and first attempt labelling inspired a great deal of interest.
    Re: sempervivum- stupid of me to use that photo- I could have used another or cropped this one to avoid confusion- my bad!
    Re: re-ordering of list
    I will make it very clear to anyone who makes mention of this in regards to your identification that your answers are based on the original list- and has been very accurate thus far! :)

    Liz: thank you for replying. I'm going to try to verify the rest of the plants today- could only do a few yesterday.
